    Bus Service Hours

    Specific times vary by route, but the system operates approximately from 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday (some routes do not run on Saturdays). There is no service on Sundays and holidays. Liberty Transit does not operate on New Year’s Day, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day. Call 912-877-1472 to confirm the schedule if you are not sure.

    Fares and Passes - Purchase ALL Passes from the Bus Drivers

     

    Regular Fare $1.00
    Buy $1.00 or $5.00 or $10.00 or $20.00 worth of bus trips**   Each trip or transfer costs = $1.00  
    Persons with disabilities (with ID or Liberty Transit ADA service pass) $0.50
    Medicare cardholders and Senior Citizens (age 65+; proper ID required, Medicare card accepted $0.50
    Monthly pass for unlimited rides $30.00
    Monthly pass for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, or Medicare cardholder $15.00
    Curb-to-curb service for eligible passengers $2.00

     

    Children under 6 ride free with a fare-paying adult. Limit two children per accompanying adult. Transfers require payment of an additional fare. Bus drivers cannot handle cash or make change. Exact change is required. Please have fare ready when boarding the bus.

    Bike and Bus

    Every bus has a carrier for bicycles on the front bumper. Be sure to tell the driver before exiting the bus if you need to remove your bike from the carrier.

    Riding on Fort Stewart

    Passengers with a destination on Fort Stewart will be required to show a valid government issued ID card in order to exit the bus while on the installation. Current year school IDs are acceptable. Passengers under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. All visitors to the installation must comply with Fort Stewart policies. Passengers who are currently barred from entering the installation must exit the bus before it travels onto the installation.

    Accessibility

    Liberty Transit provides wheelchair accessible service on every Liberty Transit bus. For eligible passengers, curb-to-curb service is available within ¾ mile of all bus routes. People with a mobility impairment which prevents them from accessing regular bus stop locations are eligible for the curb-to-curb service. You may request an application for ADA eligibility by calling 912-877-1472 or by coming to the Liberty Transit office, or you may print an application from the website: www.libertytransit.org. A completed application must be submitted to Liberty Transit and approved prior to requesting curb-to-curb service.
